CASA maintains an up to date "Wish List" for the shelter. It can be found on your right and is featured in our seasonal newsletter. We also have the most current and shelter & pet specific wish list at our shelter on the wall behind our front desk. You can always call the shelter directly and ask the staff for the most immediate needs.
By making a bequest to the Camano Animal Shelter Association (CASA) in your Will, you can make a profound and lasting impact on the welfare of countless animals cared for at the shelter every year. When preparing your Will, you make the decisions on how your possessions will be distributed. If you already have a Will, you can write a codicil (an addendum) that names the Camano Animal Shelter Association as a beneficiary of your estate.
When naming CASA in your Will, you may leave a specific dollar amount, a set percentage of your estate, or a particular property. To include CASA in your Will, you must specify its proper name and street address.
Your bequest can be simply stated; for example: “I give to the Camano Animal Shelter Association, 198 Can Ku Road, Camano Island, Washington 98282 (PO Box 1726, Stanwood, Washington 98292), federal tax ID number 91-1913293, the sum of ______ dollars to be used for its general purposes.” (If you are leaving insurance policies, land or other property, please describe it.) An attorney can advise you regarding taxes and other aspects of estate planning.
Bequests to CASA are deductible from Federal Estate Tax. Savings can be substantial. In Washington State, no restriction can be placed on the amount given to CASA by Will. Your gift to CASA will provide you with the satisfaction of knowing you have made a commitment that will endure long after your lifetime. CASA will continue to help every animal they can because of your gift.
Matching Gifts & Workplace Giving
Make your gift grow! Check to see if your company has a matching gift program or if you can give where you work via an employee giving program. If they do, this means you could double, or even triple, your contribution to CASA just by teaming up with your employer through their charitable giving programs. Many companies may also match volunteer hours or gifts from spouses, retirees, and board members! Check with your employer today to find out how you can designate the Camano Animal Shelter Association to receive company-matched gifts through your workplace. - It will be picked up free of charge
- It will be sold at auction or older vehicles can be sold for parts
- Proceeds will go to the Camano Animal Shelter Association
- You will receive a receipt entitling you to a tax deduction

Donate Property / Real Estate
Whether you are looking to add to your legacy or need a considerable tax deduction for personal or business reasons - a real estate donation may be something you have considered. If you have property on Camano or in another area you wish to donate to CASA please contact CASA and your personal attorney (if you have one) about the next steps in making a donation of this type. Whether our organization is able to utilize the property itself for our programs and services or use the sale of it to fund our life-saving programs - your tax deduction and the impact on our organization could be substantial.

Our shelter uses Kuranda beds, we have a decent number of dog Kuranda beds, but could always use a couple more small cat ones. When cats come to CASA they either stay in our Isolation Room for their stray hold or if they were surrendered, for a quarantine period before joining our colony. We are hoping to add more space and enjoyment to the kennels the cats temporarily stay in by adding Kuranda Cat Beds to each of them.
